ESR and filtering fit
The TPSD227M010R0100 is a 220 µF tantalum capacitor rated at 10 V with a 100 mOhm ESR. That ESR figure is the deciding parameter for bulk decoupling and output filtering — a 100 mOhm ESR limits ripple current handling and sets the self-heating under AC load, so it fits designs where the ripple current stays within the capacitor's dissipation limit. The molded case and surface-mount 2917 (7343 Metric) footprint mean it reflows with standard lead-free profiles and sits on the same pad layout as other D-case tantalum parts.
Temperature range and deployment
Rated for -55°C to 125°C operation, the TPSD227M010R0100 covers the full industrial and military temperature envelope — it works in outdoor telecom, engine-bay electronics, and downhole instrumentation without a temperature derating step at the high end. The ±20% tolerance is standard for tantalum electrolytics; the capacitance at the low end of the tolerance band still meets the 220 µF nominal for bulk energy storage.
The TPS series is a general-purpose molded tantalum line from KYOCERA AVX, available in tape-and-reel packaging for automated assembly.
