The TPSD226K035Y0400: This is a molded tantalum capacitor from the KYOCERA AVX TPS series, rated 22 µF at 35 V with ±10% tolerance and a 400 mOhm ESR. The D case (2917 metric) is a common footprint for power rail bulk decoupling and hold-up capacitance on 24 V or 12 V supplies.
Rework and board-fit notes
The 2917 (7343 metric) case has a 7.30 x 4.30 mm footprint and a seated height of 3.10 mm max. Standard reflow profile for tantalum caps applies — preheat to 150 °C, peak at 260 °C, and keep the time above 217 °C under 30 seconds. The molded body is moisture-sensitive; bake at 125 °C for 24 hours if the bag humidity indicator card shows >60% RH. Orientation is critical; a reverse-voltage event will short the cap and can vent the electrolyte.
