15 µF, 35 V, 300 mOhm — bulk decoupling for a 24 V rail
The TPSD156K035R0300: This is a 15 µF, 35 V rated molded tantalum from the TPS series, with 300 mOhm ESR at 100 kHz. The 35 V rating gives comfortable headroom on a 24 V bus — even with a 10 % overvoltage transient you stay below the 50 % derating guideline many avionics and industrial specs call for. The 300 mOhm ESR is moderate for a D-case tantalum; it limits ripple current without forcing a huge temperature rise.
The molded case keeps the electrolyte sealed through thermal cycling.
2917 (7343 Metric) — field-serviceable footprint
The 2917 (7343 Metric) D-case is a standard molded tantalum footprint — 7.30 mm x 4.30 mm, seated height 3.10 mm max. You can hand-solder this with a fine-tip iron and a steady hand; no hot-air station needed. The polarity marking (stripe on the positive end) is clear enough to get it right the first time on a customer site without a bench.
