What the 50 mOhm ESR means for your power rail
The TPSD107K010H0050: The 50 mOhm ESR sets the ripple current capability: at 100 kHz, the self-heating from ripple current is I² × 0.050. For a 1 A ripple, that is 50 mW dissipation — within the package's thermal budget at 85 °C ambient, but at 125 °C the derating curve in the datasheet governs the allowable ripple. The low ESR also keeps the voltage ripple across the capacitor under 50 mV for a 1 A step load, which matters for a POL regulator output.
2917 (7343 Metric) case, size code D. The 7.30 mm × 4.30 mm footprint with a seated height of 3.10 mm fits standard tantalum land patterns. The molded body has no exposed cathode tab — the termination is at the ends, so the solder pad layout is a simple two-pad footprint with no thermal pad underneath.
