What this molded tantalum cap brings to the board
The molded case means the epoxy encapsulation is uniform and the part stands up to reflow without cracking, which is the gotcha with some conformally-coated tantalums in high-temp profiles.
Listed as Active — no NRND flag, no last-time-buy deadline. For a BOM that runs for years, this cap can be ordered without chasing a sunset date.
C-case 2312 footprint and field-swap reality
The 2312 (6032 Metric) case — 6.00 mm x 3.20 mm body, 2.80 mm seated height — is the standard C-size tantalum footprint. If your board already has a C-case pad, this drops in without a layout change. For a field swap, the orientation mark (anode stripe) is on the top face; the cathode is the larger pad. No special bake-out needed below MSL 3, but if the reel sat in a humid storeroom, a 24-hour 125°C bake before rework avoids the popcorn crack.
