The TPSB155K035S2500 is a molded tantalum capacitor from KYOCERA AVX's TPS series, rated 1.5 µF at 35 V with ±10% tolerance. The molded case gives it a defined outline and consistent standoff height — no conformal-coat thickness variation to account for under a pick-and-place nozzle.
For a 35 V rail, this ESR is typical of a B-case tantalum — it handles moderate ripple but won't substitute for a low-ESR polymer part in a high-frequency switching supply. If the board originally spec'd a 1.5 µF tantalum at this voltage, the ESR match is what keeps the output ripple in spec.
No derating needed at the temperature extremes — the molded TPS series is qualified for that envelope.
