Capacitance, voltage, and package fit
The TAJR225M016RNJ: This is a 2.2 µF tantalum capacitor rated at 16 V, with ±20% tolerance, in the standard 0805 (2012 Metric) footprint. The 0805 case is a common decoupling and bulk-storage size on mixed-signal and power boards—the 2.05 mm × 1.30 mm land pattern fits most generic 0805 pads without adjustment. The manufacturer size code R and 1.20 mm seated height keep the profile low enough for back-to-back placement on a 1.6 mm PCB.
At 125°C the voltage derating guideline is 50% of rated voltage (8 V max) for reliable operation—this is standard for MnO2 tantalum capacitors and should be factored into the stress budget. For a 2.2 µF cap, this ESR is typical for the 0805 case; it limits the AC ripple current to roughly 160 mA RMS before the internal temperature rise becomes significant. Use this value when estimating output ripple in a DC-DC converter or bulk decoupling stage.
