Molded tantalum for field-swap confidence
The TAJR225K016YNJ: This is a KYOCERA AVX TAJ series molded tantalum capacitor — 2.2 µF, 16 V rated, ±10% tolerance, in an 0805 (2012 metric) case.
ESR and ripple — the real-world limit
The 6.5 Ohm ESR is the number that decides whether this cap lives on a switching rail or a quiet decoupling spot. For a 2.2 µF part at 16 V, that ESR keeps ripple current under ~200 mA RMS before self-heating becomes a concern — fine for bypassing a local rail, but not the first choice for a high-ripple buck output. If you are replacing a cap in a power supply, check the original ESR spec; a lower-ESR part in the same footprint might run cooler.
Active — no LTB scramble
Product status is Active — KYOCERA AVX still makes this part. For a BOM line, that means you can order production quantities without chasing surplus lots. Sourced to order against your RFQ; availability confirmed at quote time.
