Capacitance and voltage rating for BOM fit
The TAJR155M020RNJ is a 1.5 µF tantalum capacitor rated at 20 V. For a bulk bypass or decoupling application, the 1.5 µF value sits between the common 1 µF and 2.2 µF steps — a BOM position calling for that exact value means a direct drop-in without re-spinning the capacitor bank. Tantalum construction gives this part a stable capacitance over temperature and DC bias, unlike a Class 2 MLCC which can lose 50% or more of its rated capacitance when biased at the rated voltage. If the circuit relies on a minimum capacitance at the operating point — say a hold-up cap or an RC timing constant — the tantalum holds its value.
