10 µF, 50 V — what the case size buys you
The TAJE106M050H: This is a 10 µF molded tantalum capacitor rated at 50 V in the 2917 (7343 Metric) case — the E case code. The 50 V rating is the headline: it gives you headroom on a 24 V rail or a 48 V telecom bus, where a 35 V cap would be marginal. The 1 Ohm ESR means it handles moderate ripple current without overheating, but it is not a low-ESR part for high-frequency decoupling — think bulk storage after a regulator or input filtering on a DC-DC converter.
Temperature range and where it goes
Rated -55°C to 125°C, so it works in engine-bay electronics, outdoor telecom cabinets, or downhole tools. The molded case and surface-mount 2917 footprint are standard — you can reflow it with a standard profile, no special handling beyond the usual tantalum derating: keep the applied voltage below 80 % of rated at 85°C and below 66 % at 125°C.
It is a current-production TAJ series part, so you can design it in without worrying about a last-time-buy window.
