The TAJC226K016H is a molded tantalum capacitor from the KYOCERA AVX TAJ series, rated 22 µF at 16 V with ±10% tolerance and 1 Ohm ESR. The 2312 (6032 Metric) case — 6.00 mm x 3.20 mm footprint, 2.80 mm seated height — fits standard bulk-decoupling pads on a 0.100-inch pitch layout without crowding adjacent passives. The 1 Ohm ESR sets a ripple-current ceiling: at 100 kHz the self-heating from ripple current through this ESR limits the usable AC current to roughly the capacitor's rated ripple, which is a function of the case size and the 125°C max ambient. For a 16 V rail with 50 mV p-p ripple, the capacitor sees about 50 mA ripple current — well within the thermal budget of the 2312 case.
Full military temperature range — no cold-end derating
Unlike some tantalum types that require voltage derating below -55°C, the TAJ series maintains its 16 V rating across the entire range — relevant for avionics black boxes, satellite power filters, or outdoor base-station DC-DC output stages that see -40°C soak.
