What the 1.5 µF at 35 V means for your board
The TAJC155M035Y is a 1.5 µF molded tantalum capacitor rated at 35 V in a C-case 2312 footprint — a common bulk decoupling or timing value for rails where the 35 V rating gives headroom above nominal. The 4.5 Ohm ESR is the key thermal parameter: it sets the ripple current capability. For a switching regulator output, this ESR will contribute self-heating that must be accounted for in the thermal budget.
Rework bench: C-case 2312 under the iron
The 2312 (6032 metric) molded case measures 6.00 mm x 3.20 mm with a seated height of 2.80 mm — large enough to hand-solder with a standard chisel tip, but the molded body soaks heat. Pre-tin one pad, reflow the part with tweezers, then solder the second side. No exposed pad underneath, so inspection is straightforward — just watch for a solder bridge under the body. The ±20% tolerance means a replacement from a different reel or date code will still land within spec.
