The 15 Ohm ESR is the limiting factor for ripple current handling — at 100 kHz, the self-heating limits the AC current to roughly 70 mA RMS before the temperature rise exceeds 10°C. For a switching regulator output filter, a lower-ESR polymer or MLCC would handle more ripple, but for general-purpose bypassing on a slow bus, the ESR is acceptable.
1206 case — field-swappable with a standard iron
