Molded tantalum in a 1206 footprint
The molded construction provides consistent mechanical dimensions and good moisture resistance for automated assembly. Rated at 1 µF with ±10% tolerance and 35 V DC, it suits decoupling and filtering on 12 V or 24 V rails where a 50 % voltage derating is standard practice for tantalum reliability.
The wide span also gives headroom in industrial motor drives and outdoor telecom gear where ambient peaks can exceed 85°C. At 7.5 Ohm ESR, the self-heating under ripple current is manageable for low-frequency bypass applications; for high-ripple switching supplies, a lower-ESR tantalum or polymer type may be preferred.
