What the 1.5SMCJ75A does in a circuit
The minimum breakdown of 83.3 V keeps the diode off during normal operation, so the 75 V standoff sits comfortably below the breakdown floor — the clamping event only fires when it should. Operating junction temperature runs to 150°C, so the part survives the thermal aftermath of a clamping event without derating in most enclosed equipment enclosures. The -50°C low end covers outdoor and cold-start conditions.
