The 1.5SMCJ58: The 58V reverse standoff is the working voltage above which the device begins to conduct; the clamping ceiling sits at 103V maximum at 14.6A peak pulse current. That 103V clamp is what the downstream circuit sees during a surge event — it determines whether the protected node stays within its abs-max rating. The minimum breakdown of 64.4V gives roughly an 11% guard band above the 58V standoff — the narrowest margin in this power class. A 1.5SMCJ62 or 1.5SMCJ75 would offer more headroom but a higher clamping voltage. For a 48V rail with transients that stay below 64V, the 58V standoff is the right fit; for a 60V rail, you need to move up the family. At the 150°C Tj ceiling, clamping voltage rises and peak pulse capability drops — the datasheet derating curve governs the application. The SMC body is the same footprint as the 1.5SMC series standard, so pad layout carries across the family.

Surface-mount delivery is tape-and-reel, matching the pick-and-place cadence for panel assembly. The SMC (DO-214AB) package is the most common footprint for 1500W TVS, so there is broad second-source availability across the industry, but confirm the standoff and clamping spec match — parts labelled for the same waveform class can differ at the clamping axis.
