TVS clamping and peak pulse capability
The SMCJ110A-13 is a 1500 W peak-pulse-power TVS Zener diode from Diodes Incorporated, designed to clamp transient overvoltage events on a 110 V nominal rail. Its 122 V minimum breakdown voltage triggers conduction before the protected circuit sees a damaging spike, and the 177 V maximum clamping voltage at 8.4 A peak pulse current (10/1000 µs waveform) limits the let-through energy to a level most downstream semiconductors survive.
