The SMBJ9.0CA-13: The 9 V reverse standoff voltage is the DC or peak-AC voltage the TVS can block without conducting; the 10 V minimum breakdown voltage is where avalanche conduction begins. For a 9 V nominal rail, this provides a guard band of roughly 1 V before the TVS starts clamping. A single bidirectional channel means the device protects against both positive and negative transients on the same line — useful for signal pairs or AC-coupled rails where polarity is not fixed.
Package and board integration
The SMB footprint is shared across the SMBJ series, so a single board layout accommodates multiple voltage variants.
