The SMBJ18CA-13: With an 18V reverse standoff voltage and a 29.2V maximum clamping at 20.5A peak pulse current, it protects 18V nominal rails from transients up to that energy level. The bidirectional configuration means a single device clamps both positive and negative surges — useful on AC signal lines or DC rails where polarity reversal is possible. Housed in the DO-214AA (SMB) surface-mount package, it reflows with standard lead-free profiles and mates with the same footprint as other SMB-packaged TVS diodes. The base product number SMBJ18 covers the unidirectional variant; the CA suffix marks this as bidirectional.
