Breakdown and working voltage window
The SMAJ9.0A-13: The reverse standoff voltage is 9V — the maximum DC voltage the TVS can withstand without conducting. Breakdown occurs at a minimum of 10V, ensuring the device stays off during normal operation but triggers before the protected circuitry sees damaging overvoltage. The 15.4V clamping voltage is the maximum voltage the load sees during a surge event, which is the critical number for selecting downstream component voltage ratings.
DO-214AC SMA footprint and temperature range
Housed in the standard DO-214AC (SMA) surface-mount package, the SMAJ9.0A-13 fits existing PCB layouts for this footprint class. The operating junction temperature range spans -55°C to 150°C, covering industrial, automotive under-hood, and military temperature environments without derating concerns at the extremes.
