Automotive ESD protection with 0.3 pF loading
The D5V0X1B2LP3Q-7 is a single-channel bidirectional Zener TVS diode from Diodes Incorporated, designed to clamp ESD and other transient overvoltage events on high-speed data lines in automotive electronics. Its 0.3 pF typical capacitance at 1 MHz means it loads the signal line minimally, preserving signal integrity on interfaces like CAN FD, LIN, or USB 2.0 where capacitive loading must stay below 2 pF to avoid eye closure.
Clamping and standoff voltages for 5 V rails
This clamping voltage is low enough to protect 5 V-tolerant CMOS inputs rated to 6.5 V abs-max, but the 14 V ceiling means the protected IC's own on-chip ESD structure must handle the residual if the pulse exceeds the diode's peak current. The X2-DFN0603-2 package is a 0.60 mm × 0.30 mm footprint with a 0.35 mm seated height — the smallest standard DFN for a single-channel TVS. The 0201-equivalent land pattern keeps the parasitic inductance low, which matters for the clamping response time; a longer trace between the diode and the protected pin adds inductive overshoot that the TVS cannot clamp.
