AEC-Q101 Zener TVS for automotive signal-line protection
The D5V0Q1B2CSP-7 is a single-channel bidirectional Zener TVS diode from Diodes Incorporated, purpose-built for automotive-grade ESD and surge protection on data and control lines. Its operating junction temperature spans -65°C to +150°C, placing it solidly in the Grade-0 band for under-hood or engine-bay deployment where ambient temperatures regularly exceed 105°C. The 5.5V max reverse standoff voltage protects 3.3V and 5V logic rails, while the 6V minimum breakdown voltage gives enough margin to avoid false triggering on supply transients.
Clamping and surge ratings for high-speed interfaces
That clamping voltage is low enough to protect the 5V-tolerant I/O of most automotive MCUs and transceivers without exceeding their abs-max ratings. The 3A surge rating covers the indirect lightning and load-dump transients typical on CAN, LIN, and sensor lines in a 12V vehicle. Capacitance is 5.5 pF at 1 MHz — low enough that it does not degrade signal integrity on CAN-FD (up to 5 Mbps) or 100BASE-T1 Ethernet links. Power line protection is not supported (the part is bidirectional and intended for signal lines, not supply rails).
0201 package and board-level integration
Housed in an 0201 (0603 metric) surface-mount package, the D5V0Q1B2CSP-7 uses the X2-DSN0603-2 supplier device package — a leadless, side-wettable design that supports automated optical inspection (AOI) after reflow. The tiny footprint suits space-constrained ECU layouts where every mm² counts, such as camera modules, BMS sense boards, or zone controllers. Standard reflow profiles for lead-free solder apply; no special bake-out is required for this package moisture sensitivity level. The part ships on tape and reel (TR) compatible with 8 mm carrier tape for high-speed pick-and-place.
Active production with full compliance documentation
No pin-compatible direct second source is listed on the manufacturer's cross-reference. For BOM hedging, the base product number D5V0Q1 covers the family; other variants in the same package with different standoff voltages are available from Diodes, but each requires its own qualification review.
