5-channel ESD clamp in a 1.6 mm × 1.6 mm footprint
The D5V0M5B6LP16-7 is a five-channel bidirectional Zener TVS array from Diodes Incorporated, designed to clamp ESD and low-energy transients on general-purpose signal lines. It packs five independent protection channels into a single U-DFN1616-6 package — a 1.6 mm × 1.6 mm exposed-pad DFN — which saves board space compared to placing five discrete Zener diodes. Each channel is bidirectional, meaning the same device clamps positive and negative transients relative to a common reference, so there is no polarity to track during layout.
130 W peak pulse — enough for logic-level ESD protection
Rated at 130 W peak pulse power for an 8/20 µs waveform, the device absorbs the 12 A peak pulse current typical of IEC 61000-4-2 level 4 ESD strikes without exceeding the 14 V maximum clamping voltage. Capacitance is 35 pF at 1 MHz per channel — low enough for data lines up to a few MHz without distorting the signal edge. For high-speed interfaces like USB 2.0 or 100 Mbps Ethernet, a sub-5 pF TVS is preferred; this part fits best on GPIO, button, switch, or low-speed communication lines where the 35 pF loading is negligible. The operating temperature range spans -65°C to 150°C, covering automotive under-hood and industrial ambient conditions. The wide junction temperature margin means the leakage current and breakdown voltage drift remain within spec across the full thermal envelope.
