Active Zener TVS for ESD and transient protection
The D5V0L1B2S9-7 is an active-production Zener TVS from Diodes Incorporated, rated for general-purpose circuit protection. It clamps transients at 14V maximum with a peak pulse current of 6A under the 8/20µs waveform, making it suitable for ESD and low-energy surge suppression on signal lines. The single bidirectional channel handles positive and negative transients symmetrically.
Clamping performance and capacitance for signal lines
The 84W peak pulse power rating defines the energy it can absorb in a single event — suitable for ESD strikes and inductive kickback on low-current lines. Capacitance is 15pF at 1MHz, low enough to avoid signal degradation on high-speed data lines such as USB 2.0, HDMI, or Ethernet differential pairs. The part does not include power line protection — it is intended for signal-level transient suppression, not mains or high-energy surge clamping.
SOD-923 package and board-level integration
Housed in the SOD-923 surface-mount package, the D5V0L1B2S9-7 occupies minimal PCB area — roughly 0.9mm x 0.6mm footprint. The small outline suits space-constrained designs in portable electronics, wearables, and IoT modules where board real estate is at a premium. The operating temperature range spans -65°C to +150°C, covering automotive under-hood and industrial environments. Tape and Reel packaging (Cut Tape also available) supports automated pick-and-place assembly for volume production.
