Clamp voltage and signal protection
The D5V0L1B2LP-7B: The 5V reverse standoff rating means it sits across a 3.3V or 5V data line without conducting during normal operation, then fires when the line spikes above 6V breakdown. Peak pulse power is rated at 84W — enough for ESD strikes and short-duration transients on I/O ports, but not for sustained surge events. The 15pF capacitance at 1MHz keeps signal integrity intact on high-speed interfaces like USB 2.0 or HDMI, where excessive loading would round off the edges.
Package and board-fit
Housed in the X2-DFN1006-2 package (0402 metric footprint), this is a two-pin device with a single bidirectional junction — orientation is symmetrical, so there is no wrong way to place it on the pad. The 0.65mm pitch and 0.30mm height let it sit under low-profile shielding cans or alongside dense BGA components. The tape-and-reel packaging (7-inch reel, 8mm tape) feeds directly into pick-and-place machines for volume builds.
