Zener TVS for tight signal-line protection
The D5V0L1B2DLP3: The 84W peak pulse power rating gives a quick sanity check for the energy the part can absorb in a single event — enough for ESD and short-duration surge protection on I/O lines, USB data pairs, or keypad interfaces.
0201 footprint and signal capacitance
Housed in the 0201 (0603 metric) X3-ESN0603-2 package, this TVS fits into ultra-compact designs where board real estate is at a premium — think wearables, IoT modules, or slim handhelds. Capacitance is 15pF at 1MHz, low enough to preserve signal integrity on high-speed data lines up to the tens-of-MHz range. For USB 2.0 (480 Mbps) or 100 Mbps Ethernet, this capacitance is manageable; for faster interfaces like HDMI or USB 3.0, a lower-capacitance TVS (under 1pF) would be a better fit.
Obsolete — sourcing through independent channels
Diodes Incorporated has marked the D5V0L1B2DLP3 as obsolete. The bidirectional configuration (single channel) means it protects lines that swing both positive and negative relative to ground, common on differential signal pairs.
