Obsolete — what it means for your BOM
Diodes Incorporated lists the 1.5KE9V1CA-B as Obsolete.
1500 W peak pulse — the clamping decision
The bidirectional channel clamps at 13.4 V max when the surge current reaches 112 A. The reverse standoff voltage is 7.78 V — this is the DC working voltage below which the diode stays off. Breakdown occurs at 8.65 V minimum, so the device starts conducting just above the standoff level. The 1500 W rating is the peak pulse power — derate for longer pulse widths or higher ambient temperature per the datasheet curve.
DO-201 axial — through-hole board fit
Supplied in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial-lead package, with the supplier device package designated DO-201. The through-hole mounting suits point-to-point wiring or PCB layouts where a replaceable surge protector is preferred over a surface-mount part. Bulk packaging means loose tubes or bag — no reel, so hand-insertion or tube-fed assembly.
Temperature range and general-purpose use
The part is classified for General Purpose applications and does not include power-line protection — it is intended for signal and low-voltage DC rail transient suppression.
