1500W Zener TVS in a DO-201 axial package
The 1.5KE9V1A-T: The DO-201AA (DO-27) axial package suits through-hole board layouts where a single TVS protects a 7.78 V rail from transients up to 1500 W.
Parametric envelope and deployment fit
The 7.78 V reverse standoff means the device does not conduct at normal rail voltage up to that level — it sits transparently across a 7.78 V or lower supply. When a transient exceeds the 8.65 V minimum breakdown, the Zener junction avalanches and clamps the voltage to 13.4 V maximum at 112 A. The 1500 W peak pulse rating is the energy it absorbs before failure; for a 10/1000 µs surge, that is the safe limit per event. The DO-201 axial body handles the thermal pulse of a 1500 W surge without derating at 25°C; at elevated ambient, derate per the datasheet curve. Power line protection is marked 'No' — this device is intended for DC signal or low-voltage rail clamping, not AC mains transient suppression. Use it on 5 V, 6 V, or 7.78 V DC buses where a unidirectional clamp is acceptable.
