This means it can absorb a high-energy surge — like an inductive load dump or lightning-induced spike — without failing, as long as the energy stays within the 1500W envelope. The 30.8V reverse standoff voltage is the maximum DC or AC peak the TVS can block without conducting. Above that, the 34.2V minimum breakdown voltage triggers avalanche conduction, shunting the surge to ground. Useful on AC signal lines or DC rails where reverse voltage is possible.
Package and temperature range
Through-hole DO-201AA / DO-27 axial package (supplier device package DO-201). Mounts into a standard 0.040-inch (1.0 mm) diameter hole on the PCB; the axial leads are soldered on the opposite side. No MSL concern — the bulk packaging is moisture-insensitive.
