1500 W peak pulse — the rating that decides the protection envelope
The 1.5KE36A-T: This is the headline rating that defines its energy-handling capability: at the clamping voltage of 49.9 V, the device can absorb a 30 A peak pulse current (Ipp) without failing. For a 24 VDC nominal signal or data line, the 30.8 V reverse standoff voltage (Vrwm) means it sits transparently below the clamping threshold and only starts conducting when a transient pushes the line above 34.2 V (the minimum breakdown voltage). This is a unidirectional device (single channel) — the cathode band on the DO-201 package must be oriented toward the positive rail.
Obsolete — sourcing through independent distribution
Diodes Incorporated lists the 1.5KE36A-T as Obsolete.
Through-hole DO-201 axial — board-fit note
The package is DO-201AA / DO-27 axial lead, a 5 mm diameter body with 0.96 mm diameter tin-plated copper leads. The through-hole footprint is standard for this class — the hole diameter on the PCB should be 1.0 mm to 1.1 mm for a reliable solder fillet.
