The 1.5SMC15A TR13 PBFREE: Its 12.8V reverse standoff voltage and 21.2V clamping voltage make it a direct fit for protecting 12V rails from transients up to 71A peak pulse current.

Package and rework — SMC body, tape and reel

The SMC package has a large copper tab on the bottom — preheat the board to 125°C before hitting it with hot air, or the tab wicks heat and the joint never wets. Pin 1 is marked by a cathode band on the body; the band is wide enough to read under a loupe after reflow. Supplied on tape and reel, the part's MSL is typically Level 1 for SMC diodes — no bake required before reflow if the bag seal is intact.
