10V shunt reference with ±0.1% initial accuracy
The Texas Instruments LM4040A10IDBZR is a precision shunt voltage reference that delivers a fixed 10V output with an initial tolerance of ±0.1% and a temperature coefficient of 100ppm/°C.
The 10V fixed output is the voltage the reference holds across its operating current range. The ±0.1% tolerance is tight enough to serve as the reference for a 12-bit ADC without additional calibration — if your system needs better than 0.1% absolute accuracy at 10V, this part delivers it out of the box. The 100ppm/°C drift means the output shifts by 1 mV for every 10°C change in ambient temperature; in a lab environment that is negligible, but in an outdoor enclosure that sees a 50°C swing you budget 5 mV of drift. The 125 µA minimum cathode current sets the lower bound on the bias resistor — size it so the reference always sees at least 125 µA, even at minimum supply voltage and maximum load current.
The LM4040A10IDBZR comes in a SOT-23-3 package, a three-pin surface-mount footprint that matches standard SOT-23 land patterns. No exposed pad, no thermal considerations beyond normal derating — the 15 mA output current is the absolute limit, so keep the load current plus the bias current below that ceiling.
