Six channels, 24 bits, 32 kSPS — simultaneous, no skew
The ADS131M06IRSNR is a six-channel, 24-bit sigma-delta ADC with integrated PGA, sampling each channel simultaneously at up to 32 kSPS. No sample-and-hold per channel (ratio 0:6) — each differential input has its own modulator, so the six voltage or current waveforms are captured at the same instant without inter-channel phase delay. That matters for polyphase power calculation where the voltage and current vectors must be aligned to compute real power correctly.
Supply flexibility and temperature grade
Analog supply runs from 2.4 V to 3.6 V; the digital interface accepts 1.65 V to 3.6 V independently. That means the ADC core can operate at 3.3 V while the SPI bus talks directly to a 1.8 V host controller without an external level shifter. The -40°C to +125°C operating range covers the full industrial and automotive under-hood ambient — a motor-drive control board seeing 105°C near the IGBTs still has margin. Reference can be external or internal — the on-chip bandgap reference is trimmed and stable over temperature, so a ratiometric measurement (e.g., a shunt resistor referenced to the same supply) needs no external reference IC. For absolute accuracy, an external precision reference can override the internal one via the REFIN pin.
Package and layout
Housed in a 32-pin WFQFN with exposed pad (4x4 mm body). The thermal pad must be soldered to a PCB copper plane to achieve the rated thermal performance — the datasheet recommends a 2x2 array of 0.3 mm vias under the pad to conduct heat to the inner ground plane. The 0.5 mm pitch QFN demands careful solder-paste stencil design; a 4-layer board with solid ground pour under the package is the standard approach for this footprint.
