6.8 µH wirewound for DC-DC filtering and power rail smoothing
The Taiyo Yuden LBC3225T6R8MR is a wirewound inductor in the LB, C Type series, delivering 6.8 µH inductance with a ±20% tolerance. It is rated for 620 mA continuous current and has a DC resistance of 120 mOhm, which sets the I²R conduction loss at full load to about 46 mW — well within the 105°C temperature ceiling for most board-level power supplies.
Unshielded construction and self-resonant frequency
Unshielded construction means the magnetic field radiates into the surrounding PCB area — keep sensitive analog traces or high-impedance nodes at least a few millimeters away to avoid coupling. The self-resonant frequency of 50 MHz tells you the inductor behaves inductively up to that point; above 50 MHz the parasitic capacitance dominates and the impedance drops. For a buck converter switching at 500 kHz to 2 MHz, this part has plenty of headroom before the SRF becomes a concern. The operating temperature range spans -40°C to 105°C, covering industrial and outdoor equipment enclosures.
