Wirewound construction and unshielded core — the trade-off
This is a wirewound inductor, which means the coil is wound around a ferrite or ceramic core — the wirewound structure handles higher saturation current than a multilayer ferrite bead of the same footprint. The 2.2 µH inductance at 100 kHz test frequency is typical for DC-DC converter output filters or power rail smoothing in automotive modules. The unshielded construction means magnetic flux couples into nearby traces and components. In a dense layout, keep the inductor away from sensitive analog signal paths or use a shielded alternative if coupling becomes an issue. The 190 MHz self-resonant frequency is high enough that the inductor behaves as an inductor well above any switching regulator fundamental.
