Inductance, current, and DCR — the three numbers that decide the fit
The LBC3225T2R2MR is a 2.2 µH wirewound inductor in Taiyo Yuden's LB, C Type series, built for surface-mount assembly in a 1210 (3225 Metric) footprint. Rated at 930 mA continuous DC, this inductor handles the ripple current in a buck converter or the load current in a low-power DC-DC rail without saturating the core — the wirewound construction gives it a flatter saturation curve than a ferrite bead of the same size. The 80 mOhm DC resistance sets the copper-loss floor: at 930 mA, I²R dissipation is about 69 mW, which stays within the 105 °C temperature ceiling without derating the current further. Self-resonant frequency of 190 MHz means the inductor behaves inductively well into the VHF band — useful for filtering in switching regulators switching at 1–2 MHz where the SRF is comfortably an order of magnitude above the fundamental.
Package and temperature — board-fit constraints
Operating from -40 °C to 105 °C, it covers the industrial temperature band; the unshielded construction means the magnetic field radiates, so keep sensitive analog traces or other magnetics at least one part-width away on the same layer.
