Active production — no end-of-life watch needed
Taiyo Yuden lists the LBC2518T470K as an active product. This inductor is safe to specify into a new BOM or reorder for an existing one without worrying about a sudden EOL notice.
47 µH unshielded — where it fits and what limits it
The 47 µH inductance at 2.52 MHz test frequency places this part in the mid-value range for DC-DC converter output filters, EMI suppression, and signal-line filtering. Unshielded construction means the magnetic field radiates — keep a clearance gap from sensitive analog traces or adjacent inductors in a tightly packed layout. Rated for 165 mA continuous DC current. The 2.47 Ohm max DCR sets the I²R conduction loss — at full rated current the self-heating is about 67 mW, which is modest for the 1007 body size. The self-resonant frequency of 12 MHz is the upper bound; above that the impedance becomes capacitive, so this part is not useful for filtering above roughly 6-8 MHz. Operating range is -25°C to 105°C. That covers most industrial and consumer environments but does not reach the -40°C low end or 125°C+ high end required for automotive under-hood or outdoor telecom in extreme climates.
1007 footprint — board layout constants
Standard reflow profile for a wirewound inductor — no special pad geometry beyond the recommended land pattern in the datasheet. Tape & Reel packaging suits automated pick-and-place; Cut Tape is also available for prototype or low-volume builds.
