NRND — plan your BOM migration
Taiyo Yuden has marked the LBC2518T331MV as Not Recommended for New Designs (NRND). This means the part is still available for existing production but is not intended for new BOMs. For current builds, sourcing is through independent distribution channels — availability and pricing are confirmed at RFQ. No pin-compatible drop-in replacement is listed by Taiyo Yuden; a parametric search for 330 µH in the same 1007 footprint is the practical migration path.
330 µH, 65 mA — where it fits
The LBC2518T331MV is a wirewound, unshielded inductor rated at 330 µH with a ±20% tolerance and a DC current rating of 65 mA. The DC resistance is 15.99 Ohm max, which sets the I²R loss and temperature rise — for a 65 mA load, expect about 67 mW of copper loss at the DCR limit. The self-resonant frequency is 4.5 MHz, tested at 796 kHz. This means the inductor's impedance peaks near 4.5 MHz and becomes capacitive above that — useful for low-frequency filtering (DC-DC converters, EMI suppression) but not for RF tank circuits above a few MHz. Operating temperature range is -40°C to 105°C, covering industrial and automotive cabin environments. The unshielded construction means magnetic flux radiates — keep sensitive traces or other magnetics at least one package width away to avoid coupling.
Package and reflow fit
The footprint is standard for the 2518 size — no special pad geometry needed. Tape-and-reel packaging (TR) is standard for pick-and-place. Confirm with the lot-specific label if the part has been stored beyond the floor-life period.
