4.7 µH wirewound in an 0805 footprint
The Taiyo Yuden LBC2012T4R7MV is a 4.7 µH wirewound inductor in the standard 0805 (2012 Metric) surface-mount package, part of the LB, C Type series. Its 2.00 mm × 1.25 mm footprint and 1.45 mm seated height fit into power-supply filtering and DC-DC converter output stages where board area is constrained. Rated for 295 mA DC with a maximum DC resistance of 500 mOhm, the I²R loss at full rated current is approximately 43 mW — well within the dissipation capability of the 0805 body in still air at 85 °C ambient.
AEC-Q200 qualification and temperature range
The LBC2012T4R7MV carries AEC-Q200 qualification, meaning it has passed the stress tests (thermal shock, moisture resistance, mechanical shock, vibration) required for automotive-grade passive components. The open magnetic field means adjacent PCB traces carrying high-frequency signals should be kept at least one component width away to avoid inductive coupling. The self-resonant frequency of 45 MHz sets the upper bound for effective filtering — above this frequency the inductor behaves capacitively. Inductance is tested at 7.96 MHz, a standard test frequency for the 4.7 µH value. The ±20 % tolerance is typical for power-grade inductors; for precision filtering applications, a tighter-tolerance part from the same family should be selected.
