22 µH drum core wirewound in 0805
The Taiyo Yuden LBC2012T220M is a 22 µH unshielded wirewound inductor in the LB, C Type series, built on a ferrite drum core.
Current, DCR, and self-resonant frequency
Rated at 130 mA with a 3.7 Ohm DC resistance, the I²R loss at full rated current is about 62 mW — well within the thermal budget of the 0805 body for most ambient conditions up to 105 °C. The self-resonant frequency of 16 MHz sets the upper bound for effective filtering; above that the inductor behaves capacitively. The ±20% tolerance is typical for power-grade wirewound inductors in this value range. The inductance is tested at 2.52 MHz, which is well below the SRF and gives a clean reading of the nominal value.
