What the I²C output and 1.7 V supply mean for your board
The Renesas ZMOD4510AI3V is an air quality gas sensor that communicates over I²C, so it connects directly to the I²C bus of a microcontroller or SoC without needing an external ADC or level translator — the bus pull-up resistors are the only external components needed for the digital interface. It operates from a 1.7 V supply rail, which is common in low-power battery designs — a 1.8 V LDO or a coin cell with a boost converter can feed it. The 11 mA switching current is the peak draw during measurement; the average is lower in duty-cycled operation. The sensor is rated for -40°C to 65°C ambient, covering indoor HVAC, outdoor environmental monitoring, and cold-chain storage applications. The 15% accuracy spec applies to the gas concentration reading — enough for trend-based air quality alerts but not for certified safety measurements.
