For a pick-and-place line, that means a tube feeder or tray shaker is needed; no reel-to-reel feed. For prototype or low-volume builds, bulk is often preferred because there is no reel waste and the parts are easier to hand-place. The per-unit cost in bulk can be slightly lower than tape-and-reel for the same quantity, but the handling overhead at the line is higher.
