120 MHz RXv3 core with 4 MB flash — real-time control headroom
The R5F566NNHGLK#20 is a 32-bit RXv3 microcontroller from Renesas' RX720-040 series, clocked at 120 MHz. This core speed, combined with 4 MB of program flash and 1 MB of RAM, provides the throughput and memory depth for motor-drive control loops, multi-axis servo sequencing, or HMI applications that cache large frame buffers on-chip.
Industrial temperature range and connectivity suite
Rated for -40 to 105°C ambient, the MCU suits factory-floor controllers, outdoor telecom gear, and engine-bay-adjacent electronics where the enclosure sees thermal cycling. The peripheral set includes CANbus, Ethernet, USB OTG, and multiple SPI/I²C/SCI channels — enough to bridge a fieldbus backbone to local sensor networks and a touch-panel display. On-chip data converters — 29-channel 12-bit ADC and dual 12-bit DAC — reduce the external analog front-end count. The 111 GPIOs in the 145-TFLGA package give the board designer flexibility to route parallel LCD data buses or memory-mapped external peripherals without multiplexing.
ROHS3 compliance covers current EU and global environmental directives, so no exemption expiry risk on the BOM.
