RX23W MCU with integrated Bluetooth 5.0
The R5F523W8BDBL#20 is a 32-bit single-core microcontroller from Renesas' RX23W series, built around the RXv2 core running at 54MHz. It packs 512KB of on-chip Flash and 64KB of RAM, plus an integrated 8KB EEPROM for non-volatile parameter storage — enough headroom for a Bluetooth 5.0 stack and the application logic in a single chip. The 85-TFBGA package (5.5x5.5 mm) exposes 43 I/O lines, with 22-channel 12-bit ADC and 2-channel 12-bit DAC on the analog side. Connectivity includes CANbus, I²C, IrDA, SCI, SD/SDIO, SPI, SSI, and USB OTG — enough to bridge a sensor cluster to a host controller over USB or CAN.
Active production, ROHS3 — no LTB window
It is ROHS3 compliant, which means the entire bill of materials — including the solder balls on the TFBGA — meets the 2015/863 EU directive without exemptions. No successor or cross-reference is necessary at this stage.
Industrial temperature range and peripheral set
The 12-bit ADC array (22 channels) is enough to sample a multi-sensor array without an external mux.
