2500Vrms isolation, Darlington output — what this opto does
The Renesas PS2933-1-AX is a single-channel Darlington-output optocoupler from the NEPOC series, packaged in a 4-SMD flat-leads package (4-Mini-Flat). It provides 2500Vrms isolation between input and output, with a current transfer ratio ranging from 400% to 4500% at 1 mA forward current — the Darlington stage gives you enough gain to drive a relay coil, a high-side gate, or a logic input directly from a low-current source like a GPIO pin or a sensor output.
350V output and 60 mA per channel — what it can switch
The output transistor is rated for 350V collector-emitter and 60 mA continuous current per channel, with a saturation voltage of 1V max. That means this part can switch a 24V or 48V industrial load, a 120V AC relay, or a 250V DC bus without an external driver transistor — the Darlington handles the voltage and the gain. Rise and fall times are 20 µs and 5 µs typical, fast enough for 10 kHz switching or PLC input sampling, but not for high-speed data isolation.
-55°C to 100°C — military/industrial temperature grade
The 2500Vrms isolation is a basic safety barrier for reinforced insulation in mains-connected equipment (per IEC 60950-1 table-based creepage, though the 4-Mini-Flat package limits physical creepage distance — verify against your clearance requirements).
Active lifecycle, ROHS3, and the NEPOC series
The NEPOC series is Renesas's standard optocoupler family; this part is a single-channel Darlington variant in the 4-Mini-Flat surface-mount package.
