The Renesas NEPOC PS2535L-1-A is a single-channel Darlington-output optocoupler in a 4-SMD Gull Wing package. Its headline ratings are a 5000Vrms isolation voltage, a current transfer ratio spanning 400% to 5500% at a forward current of 1mA, and a collector-emitter voltage rating of 350V. The Darlington output stage gives it an exceptionally high CTR — orders of magnitude above a standard transistor coupler — so you can drive the LED with under 1 mA and still saturate the output.
CTR of 400% to 5500% — the so-what
A minimum CTR of 400% at 1 mA means the output transistor can sink at least 4 mA of collector current for every 1 mA of LED drive. At the maximum end, 5500% means the same 1 mA LED current can switch over 55 mA on the output side. This wide CTR range covers both worst-case temperature and aging margins. For the BOM engineer, it translates to a guaranteed logic-level interface with a simple series resistor on the LED — no extra transistor buffer needed. The 1.2V typical forward voltage and 50 mA absolute-max LED current are standard for this class.
-55°C to 100°C — temperature grade and environment
The 5000Vrms isolation rating meets reinforced insulation requirements for many AC-mains-isolated power supply feedback loops and motor drive interface circuits.
Active lifecycle, ROHS3, and sourcing posture
It is ROHS3 compliant. There is no LTB risk on the horizon for this NEPOC series device.
