What this NEPOC Darlington optocoupler does on your board
The Renesas NEPOC PS2533-1-V-A is a single-channel Darlington-output optocoupler in a through-hole 4-DIP package. It provides 5000Vrms galvanic isolation between a DC input LED and a high-voltage Darlington phototransistor output, rated for 350 V and 150 mA continuous. This part is built for industrial PLC output modules, motor-drive interface cards, AC/DC relay drivers, and any application where you need to switch a high-voltage load from a low-voltage controller with reinforced isolation.
5000Vrms isolation and 350 V output — where it fits
The 5000Vrms isolation rating qualifies this optocoupler for reinforced insulation in mains-connected industrial equipment, such as variable-frequency drives, servo drives, and switch-mode power supply feedback loops. The Darlington output's 350 V breakdown and 150 mA continuous current handle 24 VDC relay coils, 120 VAC solenoid valves, and high-side switch interfaces without an additional driver stage. Rise and fall times are 100 µs typical — adequate for DC switching and low-frequency PWM up to a few kilohertz, but not for high-speed digital isolation.
Package and storage notes
Supplied in Tube (not Tape & Reel), so it ships in antistatic tubes suitable for through-hole insertion. The 4-DIP body is 0.300 inch wide with 7.62 mm pin pitch — standard DIP footprint. No moisture-sensitivity level concern for DIP packages; store in a dry, static-safe environment. The -55°C to 100°C operating range covers outdoor telecom cabinets and industrial enclosures without derating.
