Device identity and core architecture
The M34250E2FP is a 4-bit OTPROM microcontroller built around the MELPS720 CPU core — a Mitsubishi proprietary architecture that handles simple control and sequencing tasks without the overhead of a full 8-bit or 16-bit bus. The OTPROM means the program memory is factory-programmed and cannot be erased or re-flashed in the field — a design decision that locks the firmware at the time of manufacture, so any code change requires a new part number and a new mask.
Package and production status
Supplied in Bulk — tube or tray, not tape-and-reel — so pick-and-place feeders need a tube adapter or tray shaker; hand-assembly or small-batch rework is straightforward with standard hot-air or soldering iron.
