ROHS3 compliant, which keeps it usable across EU and most global markets without exemption tracking.
0.25 W Zener — what the rating means for the BOM
This is a 0.25 W Zener diode — the power dissipation ceiling is the key constraint. In a typical voltage-clamp or shunt-regulator role, the steady-state current multiplied by the zener voltage must stay under 250 mW. For a 5 V zener, that limits continuous current to about 50 mA; for a 3.3 V rail, roughly 75 mA. Above that, the junction temperature rises past the safe operating area unless the board copper or airflow pulls the heat away.
Bulk packaging — manual-assembly reality
That suits hand-assembly, rework benches, or low-volume prototype runs. For automated pick-and-place, you will need to transfer to tape or source a reeled variant if one exists in the family.
