Buffer identity and supply range
The 74FCT3244QG is a Renesas Electronics buffer, non-inverting, from the 74FCT series.
Output drive and bit width
Each of the two elements (E9: Number of Elements 2) buffers four bits (E13: Number of Bits per Element 4), giving eight total channels. The output drive is asymmetric: 8mA source, 24mA sink (E*12: Current - Output High, Low 8mA, 24mA). The higher sink current handles capacitive loads on the falling edge — a 30pF bus at 3.3V discharges about 1.5ns faster than it charges, which matters for signal integrity on shared data lines.
3-state output and package options
The 3-state output (E4: Output Type 3-State) lets multiple buffers share a bus without contention — the output goes high-impedance when the enable pin is deasserted, so another driver on the same line can pull it high or low. The part is offered in two package options: the 20-SSOP (0.154", 3.90mm Width) (E6: Package / Case 20-SSOP (0.154", 3.90mm Width)) and the 20-QSOP (E*11: Supplier Device Package 20-QSOP). The QSOP has a narrower body (3.90mm vs 5.30mm for standard SSOP-20), which saves board area but demands finer pitch soldering. Both are surface mount.
Industrial temperature grade
The 85°C ceiling is the standard industrial limit; above that, leakage currents in the CMOS inputs rise and timing margins narrow.
